BBQ Chicken - Korea's No. 1 Chicken Restaurant

remember the BBQ Chicken that TVXQ did an ad for years ago???
it's in Singapore now...

and i tried it yesterday...
after the French movie "Coco Avant Chanel" (Coco before Chanel)

first things first...
it's not exactly a fast food restaurant like KFC...
as the waiters will come and take your order like in a restaurant...
the pricing is also higher than your normal fastfood restaurant...
the only thing is that the flour coating is a tad too thick to our liking...
a bit hard to cut through or poke with your fork and knife...
but the meat is AMAZINGLY SUCCULENT and JUICY!!!



Original Chicken

Marinated right through the meat with BBQ's unique recipe and secret Formula of 30 natural seasonings and cooked to golden perfection. Complete with golden fries and coleslaw.

my OLIVE SPECIALTY ORIGINAL CHICKEN set had 1 breast & 1 thigh with wing (ORIGINAL) with mayo potato salad and steamed seasonal vegetables... this costs SGD12.90...
e breast meat was as succulent as the thigh meat, and it was piping hot...
juices flowing out when i cut into it...
yum yum...
the potatoes with mayo was a bit over the top as i felt like it was flooded with mayo... but the steamed seasonal vegetables as another side was good to balance out the fattening fried chicken...



Hot Hot Drum

Get ready to be thrilled by the hot and spicy taste from Korea! Hot red pepper grain and paste sauce generously spread over crispy and juicy chicken. Complete with golden fries and coleslaw.

tedheads ordered the OLIVE SPECIALTY HOT HOT DRUM CHICKEN with mashed potato and salad using her student pass...
so she got it at a discounted price of SGD7.90, instead of the normal SGD13.90
the mashed potato is DELICIOUS... it's different from KFC's but tastes more like the mid range restaurants like Billy Bombers, cos there's garlic added in the mashed potatoes...
i love the HOT HOT DRUMS...
it's spicy to my liking...
don't be fooled when you first bite into it, cos the spiciness comes after...
it's a spicy aftertaste from the hot red pepper paste and dried red pepper powder that they always use in their cooking I think...

Korean Charboiled

Using only the most tender leg meat, it is marinated in a natural sauce made of 30 secret ingredients then roasted first with hardwood charcoal, then followed by earthenware. Definitely a must try at BBQ Chicken.

googolia had the GRILLED SPECIALTY KOREAN CHARBROILED chicken with mashed potato and salad...
also using her student pass... so she got it at a discounted price of SGD7.90, instead of the normal SGD14.60 it's not spicy, but tastes of authentic Korean BBQ marinate... if it was warmer it would have tasted even better...

they were out of CHICKEN CUTLET...
i guess Singaporeans are rather unadventurous when it comes to food...
they tend to stick to the usual, normal stuff... that's why there were no more chicken cutlets...
and most tables were having the KOREAN CHARBROILED or the ORIGINAL... not many seem to dare to try the HOT HOT DRUM...


nice health note is that they use olive oil to cook their food...
so i can eat safely, knowing it's healthier, as if it was my mum's cooking...
this will now rank 2nd in my fave fried chicken restaurants...
1st will be Popeye's still...
KFC has dropped to 3rd...

[MISC] Jaejoong's favourite accessory shop in Japan - Bossa Nova

This is actually from the blog entry of a worker from Bossa Nova, the accessory shop in Japan which Jaejoong frequently visits. Lucky staff you! :(

Many Tohoshinki fans have been visiting our shop recently, and everyone of them are really great people.
I was very happy to hear about some things about Jaejoong.
Speaking of which, he seems to be very busy recently due to the Live Tour.
The last time we met, Jaejoong once said that, going back and forth between Japan and Korea is really hectic.
When Jaejoong comes to the shop, he likes to choose the accessories he like and tries them on.
Shop in a happy and relaxed way. Jaejoong prefers silver.
(When he is shopping for accessories, he does not talk about work, thus he thought that I did not recognize him)
When we met for the second or third time, I greeted him "Long time no see, are you feeling better?"
"En? Do you remember me?" Jaejoong replied. When I said "You are Mr. Jaejoong right?", Jaejoong was very happy.
Jaejoong is very humble, he left me with a very good impression.
I look forward to seeing his career develop in the future. You are always welcome back to the shop.

[NEWS] M-Flo's "Been So Long" Featuring Micky Yoochun & YoongWoong Jaejoong

For Japanese group M-Flo's 10th Anniversary Tribute Album, they gathered together a group of popular artists to commemorate 10 years of good music!
Some of the artists on the album are Marie, Mison, Simizu Shota, Beni... ok, I'll get to the point--TVXQ's own Young-woong Jaejoong and Mickey Yoochun have a spot on the album singing a song called "Been So Long."
I have to say even though I've only heard 49 seconds of the song, I already like it.
Jaejoong's voice sounds absolutely heavenly and I'm sure Mickey's will sound just the same.

[NEWS] DBSK to SUSPEND Activities

DBSK will be suspending their group activities pretty soon after completing all their planned schedules.
This is largely due to the lawsuit filed by JaeJoong, Micky and Xiah against SM Entertainment for their slavery contract to be amended.
As spoke in the aftermath of the lawsuit, DBSK will complete their planned schedules before the lawsuit was filed which will end on 29th August.
Beyond that, DBSK will be taking a "vacation", with regards to group activities, although solo activities will continue.
There are still two live performances for fans to catch DBSK together as a group before their vacation, the first being A-Nation in Osaka, Japan and their Shanghai concert.
The court has already heard both sides of the story from SM Entertainment and the DBSK trio (JaeJoong, Yoochun and Junsu) earlier.
Although the court has advised both parties to sit down and settle their differences, it's kind of unlikely that a solution would be reached at this juncture.
The ruling of the case will be decided on 11th September, where fans all over the world would be glued to their computers, hoping that DBSK will still exist as a group.
